The Adopted Saint of the Grand Duke

<The Adopted Saint of the Grand Duke> Synopsis

1. Summary

Esther, an orphan from the slums, happened to be noticed by a priest and became a candidate to become the saint. Even though she was a candidate to become the saint, she had to take care of all the hard chores because she was a low-ranking student, but it was nice just to be in the temple. However, everything turned upside down once Esther was awakened as the saint. The temple didnt want to accept an orphan of unknown origin as the saint. They had already named Lavienne, the only daughter of the duke, as the next saint. Eventually, Esther was locked up in prison and her blood was fed to Lavienne, the fake saint. (Lavienne originally had some divine power, and the blood of the saint would help amplify that in the short term.)

Esther decided to die and took the opportunity that came by chance. However, when she opened her eyes, she found herself back at the point just before everything started. She couldnt go back and escape just after the death of the previous saint. All she could do was enter her self-inflicted imprisonment. Exhausted by the repeated regression, Esther begged to die.

Then, something changed on the 15th return. The date of her return had been pushed back by a year. Realizing she had time to escape, Esther searched for a way to die. She thought of the Grand Duke DeVine, knows as the Grim Reaper on the battlefield, and believed he would kill her. When he came to the temple she attacked him, but instead of killing her he offered to adopt her.

Eventually, Esther accepted the Grand Dukes offer and became his daughter, leaving the temple to live in the Grand Duchy of Tersia. Contrary to the rumors, it was a warm place where she was able to learn love from her father Grand Duke DeVine and her two brothers. Love began to bloom in her desolate heart, and her desire to live again grew. However, she also felt a desire for revenge against the temple and Lavienne who had made her feel this way.

Esther eventually regained her confidence both as the daughter of the Grand Duke and as a person. Additionally, she realized that her divine power had accumulated with each repeated regression, and she learns to properly control it.

Eventually, the previous saint died and Lavienne was named the next saint. Once she was named saint, the crystal ball made by the first saint to protect the empire that resided within the temple cracked. Infectious disease spread through the empire, and Lavienne frantically searched for the real saint, Esther, in order to steal her blood and not be exposed as a fake.

However, Esther earned the nickname the Child of Light for healing people from the plague, the the Presbyterian Church of the Temple stood behind her. Eventually, the temple became suspicious of Lavienne and made her take the qualification test. Esther also took the qualification test and her status as the true saint became known to the temple.

Esther didnt fix the crystal ball, so the temple tried to bring her in, but Grand Duke DeVines refusal made it impossible for them. After Lavienne was arrested for impersonating a saint, her father tried and failed to kidnap Esther. In his trial, he tried to prove that he was her biological father but was convicted of harming the royal family and attempted kidnapping. Later, Lavienne and Brawns were tried together and punished severely, and both died miserably.

The temple, which revolved around the saint as its centripetal point, continued to regret their actions and beg for Esther to return. However, Esther only agreed to fix the crystal and continued to live with her family is Tersia.

Instead, she only helpede when they needd a lot of power and instead left matters to the newly elected ministers. The temple no longer coveted power but became an open space where everyone was welcome. Additionally, the temple and the royal family reconciled their feud. At the center of everything was Esther.

After that, Esther lives a happy life loved by her family and her people.
